Friday, Jan. 11, 2013
1:31 a.m.: disturbance, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports two persons are creating a disturbance and a patrol officer simultaneously reported that a female party ran up to his cruiser, slapped her hands against it and began talking at him unintelligibly, the woman was found to be obviously highly intoxicated and was placed in protective custody, a resident subsequently reported that the woman had damaged a motor vehicle;
2:55 a.m.: disturbance, East Main St., a caller reports observing a couple engaged in a physical altercation, the responding officer reports the female party suffered minor injuries, a criminal complaint for assault and battery in a domestic relationship was filed;
2:51 p.m.: suspicious activity, Southampton Road School, a principal called to reports youths are throwing snowballs at the school, the responding officer reports he encountered a group of youths walking on the Southampton Road sidewalk and one said that he had been throwing snowballs at an acquaintance, not at the school, the officer reports the youths left the area;
3:18 p.m.: fraud, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports that a male fraudulently attempted to return merchandise, the responding officer reports the man was escorted to a bus stop;
4:16 p.m.: animal complaint, Salvatore Drive, the director of animal control operations reports a resident took custody of a stray dog, the responding animal control officer transported the dog to the municipal animal shelter;
4:18 p.m.: suspicious activity, South Meadow Road, a caller reports hearing gunshots, the responding officer reports he heard gun shots also but they were very distant and posed no danger to residents;
9:22 p.m.: larceny, Powder Mil Village, 126 Union Street, a caller who works for a commercial ambulance service reports that while on a call at the apartment complex cell phones belonging to himself and his partner were stolen along with their GPS unit;
11:06 p.m.: vandalism, 5 Willow Brook Lane, a caller reports occupants of a pickup truck shot at and struck his house with paint balls, the responding officer reports that the caller said that he reported the incident which resulted in no lasting damage because his house has previously been targeted by eggs;

7:23 a.m.; vandalism, Pochassic Road, a caller reports the rear window of her parked vehicle was smashed but nothing appears to have been stolen, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
8:01 a.m.: vandalism, North Road, a caller reports while checking a house for the absent residents she discovered a vehicle had been vandalized, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
8:43 a.m.: vandalism, Montgomery Road, a caller reports a porch window was broken by an apparent BB impact overnight, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
8:51 a.m.: vandalism, Tannery Road, a caller reports a front window was broken by an apparent BB impact overnight, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
11:17 a.m.: animal complaint, Mainline Drive, a resident came to the station with a small yellow dog found running loose near Mainline Drive, the animal control officer transported the dog to the municipal animal shelter;
11:53 a.m.: vandalism, Barbara Street, a caller her son’s vehicle was vandalized overnight, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
3:31 p.m.: vandalism, Wildflower Circle, a resident reports on-line an incident of vandalism to a motor vehicle, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
4:40 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Sycamore Street Apartments, 14 Sycamore Street, a caller reports an apparently abandoned vehicle has been damaged, the responding officer reports the vehicle had been reported to be stolen in Springfield and the radio was found to have been forcibly removed from the car, Springfield police were notified of the recovered vehicle;
5:06 p.m.: vandalism, Montgomery Road, a resident reports on-line an incident of vandalism to a residential window, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
8:12 p.m.: breaking and entering, Fairview Street, a caller reports his home was broken into and property was stolen, the responding detective reports a window was found to have been broken to gain entry and jewelry was stolen, a State Police K-9 team assisted in the investigation;
9:13 p.m.: animal complaint, Holyoke Road at East Mountain Road, a caller reports taking custody of a female dog which broke its lead, a responding animal control officer reports he transported the dog to the municipal animal shelter;
10:12 p.m.: breaking and entering, Tannery Road, a caller reports that she observed a light in a house owned by a relative she knows to be away from the city, the responding officer reports a window was found to be broken, the responding detective reports entry was gained and jewelry was found to have been stolen.
