SOUTHWICK – Town police are investigating a robbery which left a convenience store clerk slightly injured early this morning.
Lt. David Ricardi said that the clerk at the Pride gas station and convenience store on the corner of College Highway and Congamond Road suffered apparently minor injuries during the robbery and was transported to Noble Hospital where he was treated and released.
Southwick police pursued the suspect, who was operating a small black car, southbound on College Highway.
After the vehicle crossed the nearby Connecticut state line, Ricardi said that he believes the town police were assisted by both Connecticut state and local police.
However, the driver eluded the pursuit.
The investigation is continuing.
