12:26 a.m.: traffic complaint, Feeding Hills Road, a state trooper reports he set out a flare to warn motorists of a fallen limb which is obstructing the road, the DPW was notified, the responding officer reports the roadway was cleared by 1:08 a.m.;
1:16 p.m.: assist citizen, Russell Road, a caller reports locking her keys inside her running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
1:29 p.m.: well being check, a detective reports that she was advised by a school principal that a child’s mother had unexpectedly taken her from school, the detective reports that she found that the woman had removed her two other children from schools, the detective reports that she spoke with a resident at the woman’s last known address who said that the woman is a distant relative whom he allowed to stay at his home because she and her children had no place to live, the man went on to say that the woman stole medication and jewelry from him and owes him money for living expenses, the detective reports that she spoke with one of the woman’s daughters who is in the custody of her father and is happy to be there, the girl said her mother took her younger sibling to New York but is expected to return, the girl’s elder sister is reported to be living in Huntington with her boyfriend, the Department of Children and Families was notified;
2:09 p.m.: assault, Riverside Drive, a caller reports he was assaulted by his former girlfriend, the responding officer reports the man said that about 1:30 he heard his former girlfriend banging on his door and he eventually responded for fear that she would damage the property, the man said when she entered she immediately struck his face with an open hand and scratched him while yelling that he had been consorting with other women, the man noted that the woman had secured a protective order which prohibits him from being near her, the officer reports he observed signs of minor injuries about the man and reports that a criminal complaint for assault and battery in a domestic relationship was filed;
5:30 p.m.: city ordinance violation, St. Paul Street, a community policing officer reports he attempted to speak with a resident regarding two unregistered motor vehicles, the CP officer reports the landlord responded to his message and said that he will resolve the issue with his tenant as soon as possible;
8:26 p.m.: larceny, Church of the Atonement, 36 Court Street, a resident came to the station to report her purse was stolen during a program at church, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she had been leading an AA meeting in the church and a bag which contained her purse had been next to her seat, the woman said that after the meeting she spoke with a few of the participants individually and when she returned her attention to her bag she found it was gone;

9:26 a.m.: accident, Noble Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a utility pole which had been snapped at the bottom, apparently by a vehicular impact, no accident had been reported, the G&E was advised;
10:00 a.m.: larceny, East Main Street, the loss prevention supervisor from an East Main Street supermarket came to the station to report that a clerk was victimized by a known flim flam artist, the complainant explained that the known party has been trespassed from all the chain’s stores due to his proclivity to buy a low cost item at the courtesy desk with a $100 bill and then ask the clerk for his change in different and changing denominations so that the clerk becomes confused and gives him almost $200 in change, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
10:56 a.m.: abandoned vehicle, Thomas Street, a patrol officer reports a pedestrian pointed out a snow covered vehicle which he said had been parked for an extended period, the officer reports he found that registration plates on the vehicle had been issued to another vehicle, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
12:34 p.m.: larceny, Fair Lane, a resident came to the station to complain of unauthorized use of her credit card, the responding officer reports the woman said that she became aware of unauthorized restaurant charges which started shortly after her grandson and his girlfriend moved out of her residence after staying with her for a for a time when he had no place to live, the woman said that the restaurants where her credit card was used are near his new accommodations, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
10:48 p.m.: disturbance, Little River Crossing, 93 S. Maple St., a caller reports hearing neighbors screaming at each other for more than an hour and recently heard one say “Stop hitting me”, the responding officer reports that before he knocked on the door he observed through a window a male party kneeling on the floor and apparently pleading with a female party, the officer reports that the man answered the door and said that the altercation had been verbal, the officer however observed what appeared to be signs of recent injuries and when the man exposed his torso upon request the officer also saw a bite mark and red hand prints on his skin, the officer spoke with the female party who said that the man had struck and pushed her but she did not display any signs of injury, Kayla M. Gotay, 20, of 93 S. Maple St., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship;

9:26 a.m.: identity fraud, Reservoir Avenue, a resident came to the station to complain that his social security number was fraudulently used, the responding officer reports the man said that his attempt to file his income tax online was rejected because his social security number had been used with an tax return which had already been filed;
10:32 a.m.: assault, Westfield District Court, a resident came to the station to report that she was assaulted in the courthouse by her former boyfriend, the responding officer reports the woman said that while waiting for a court hearing she had been sitting next to the suspect and he attempted to speak with her, the woman said that she turned away because she did not want to speak with him and he put a hand on her arm in an apparent attempt to get her attention, the officer reports that he deemed the man’s touch to not be an assault and he told the woman that he would file a report of the incident;
10:46 a.m.: suspicious footprints, Old Quarry Road, a caller reports finding footprints in her yard although nothing has been disturbed, the responding officer reports the woman said that she believes the footprints which encircle her home were made by her child’s father with whom she is estranged, the officer reports he spoke with the man who denied being at the residence;
11:30 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s right to operate was found to have been suspended, the vehicle was towed;
11:54 a.m.: assist citizen, East Main Street, a caller requests assistance after locking keys inside a vehicle, the responding officer reports entry was made;
1:25 p.m.: animal complaint, Franklin Street, a caller reports taking custody of a dog which had been running in traffic, the responding animal control officer reports he found an open door at the residence but no person, a message was left for the resident;
10:14 p.m.: trespassing, Chapman Playground, a community policing officer reports that he observed three youths exit the playground which (like all unlit city parks ) closes at dusk, the officer spoke with the three boys who gave conflicting accounts of where they had been and where they were going, the CP officer reports he observed one of the youths had wet paint dripping from his hands, a backup officer detained the boys and the CP officer found fresh graffiti in the playground, Carlos M. Dejesus Jr., 17, of 131 Meadow Street and two juvenile boys were arrested for vandalizing property and city ordinance violation citations were filed for trespassing in a closed city park.
