6:47 a.m.: robbery, Union St., a motorist reports he was pulled over by a person he believed to be a police officer and robbed, the responding officer reports the man said that he was traveling on Union Street on his way to work when he saw blue and white lights flashing on the dashboard of the car behind him and pulled over, the man said that a White Ford Fusion stopped behind him and a male party who was about six feet tall and was brandishing a handgun approached and ordered him from his vehicle, the man said when he did not exit promptly enough the man pulled him from his car and ordered him to the ground, the complainant said that he heard the man rummaging in his vehicle before the man ordered him to stay on the ground, returned to his vehicle and left, the complainant said that when he returned to his vehicle he found that an envelope containing almost $1,500 in cash was missing, the man said he continued to work so he would not be late and when he got there his boss suggested he call police, the investigating detective reports that his investigation led him to interview the victim who eventually conceded that the incident was fictional and had been conceived to explain why he was late for work;
10:58 a.m.: animal complaint, Root Road, the animal control officer reports she responded to a call for a snapping turtle in a parking lot;
12:22 p.m.: larceny, Clifton Street, a Worthington resident came to the station to complain that a ramp for his truck was stolen from his business property on Clifton Street, the responding officer reports that the man said that the ramp had been stolen in the past three days and the officer checked a local scrap yard and found the ramp in a scrap aluminum bin, the ramp had been damaged, the officer reports the staff at the salvage yard will attempt to determine who sold them the ramp;
2:44 p.m.: breaking and entering, a South Deerfield resident came to the station to report his car was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said that he had been visiting overnight and his unlocked car parked in the driveway was entered and a duffel bag of clothing, numerous music CDs and two bottle of prescription medication were stolen;
5:06 p.m.: recreational vehicle complaint, East Glen Drive, a patrol officer reports he encountered a boy who appeared to be younger than 16 years-of-age operating an ATV which was found to be unregistered, the officer reports he spoke with the boy’s mother who said that she had not known her son was operating the ATV and was upset that he was doing so, the officer advised the woman of the potential consequences of her son riding an unregistered ATV on a public way;
8:03 p.m.: disturbance, Princeton Street, a Northampton emergency dispatcher reports hearing what sounded like a domestic disturbance on an open-line 911 call from a Princeton Street address, the responding officer reports the female resident said that her boyfriend of 30 years grabbed her, choked her and attempted to restrain her, Richard J. Martin, 48, of 206 Blisswood Village Drive, Ludlow, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship.
