HARWICHPORT, MA – Russell Barnes, 86 of Harwichport MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Russ was born and raised in Westfield, MA and retired to his home on the Cape over 20 years ago.He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. His happiest of days and fondest memories were of times that he spent hunting and fishing. He loved the ocean and the friends he would see at the Chatham Pier.
He was the husband of the late Arden (Handfield) Barnes. He is survived by a step daughter, Brenda Bromley and his grandchildren, Christopher and Nicole Bromley of Hyannis, as well as many nieces and nephews that will miss him.
