3:25 a.m.: suspicious person, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a pedestrian taking an inordinate interest in a gas station and looking around as if to determine if he was observed, the officer approached the man after watching him for several minutes and found him to be in possession of snack food, the man eventually admitted he had stolen the food and said that he was trying to survive, the officer found that a container at the gas station had been opened, during the booking process the man said that he had last eaten two days earlier and a supervisory officer provide personal funds to get him something to eat, the man was found to be a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a fellow veteran was contacted who agreed to provide accommodations for the man, however, Daniel Rey Wolfe, 27, of 7618 Shelby Lane, Broken Arrow, Okla., was unable to post bail after he was arrested for breaking and entering with intent to commit a misdemeanor and for larceny of property valued less than $250;
12:55 p.m.: disturbance, Maple Street, a patrol officer reports he was advised of two persons on the railway right-of-way who are drinking alcohol and yelling at passersby, the responding officer reports he found two men who had been the subject o f two calls earlier in the day and had become obviously highly intoxicated, the men were placed in protective custody;
2:51 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Summer Street at Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the operator produced an invalid out-of-state driver’s license, the officer reports she also observed that the vehicle did not have a valid inspection sticker, Jose A. Ramirez, 23, of 15 Morris Sr., was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and for a state highway traffic violation;
5:04 p.m.: breaking and entering, Lois Street, a caller reports she found a door open when she checked her bother’s house, the responding officer reports the caller said that she is staying in a relative’s home while he is away and returned to find the rear door wide open, the officer reports nobody was in the house and he found a kitchen window open, the caller said that four jewelry boxes are missing and the officer reports that the woman picked up some pieces of paper found on the floor which he identified as empty heroin packets, the officer reports a neighbor said that nobody suspicious had been seen in the area during the time the house was entered but detailed two previous suspicious incidents;
5:48 p.m.: annoying phone calls, Southwood Acres, 342 Southwick Road, a caller reports her former boyfriend is sending her annoying text messages, the responding officer reports the woman said that she did not save the messages and said they were annoying but not threatening, the officer spoke with the suspect who said that the woman has been sending him annoying text messages, both parties were advised to break off contact with one another;
6:55 p.m.: disturbance, Main Street, a caller reports his mother’s boyfriend is intoxicated and attempting to fight others, the responding officer reports he encountered two men yelling at each other, the 18-year-old caller said the other man grabbed his mother by her throat but the woman denied there had been any physical contact and said that the red mark on her chest was due to her crying, the officer reports the man denied a physical altercation, the officer reports a routine check revealed that the man’s license was suspended and he left the area on foot, a caller reported about 15 minutes later that the man had returned and entered the vehicle, an officer returned and the man secured the vehicle and again left on foot, about an hour later a caller reported the man had left in his vehicle and an officer monitoring traffic spotted and stopped the vehicle, Jason J. Mason, 48, of 41 Colonels Drive, Weymouth, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as an habitual traffic offender;
9:50 p.m.: accident, Russell Road at Putnam Drive, a caller reports his father is intoxicated and took medication before leaving in his vehicle, officers were advised to be on the lookout for the vehicle and a subsequent caller reported a crash near Putnam Drive, the crashed vehicle was found to be the one reported earlier and was found with smoke coming from under the hood, the windshield was shattered and the vehicle was running, the operator was found nearby who appeared to be highly intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test, Richard N. Bruneau, 55, of 549 Russell Road, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor;
10:58 p.m.: fireworks, Gold Street, a call reports fireworks at a nearby house, the responding officer reports a resident admitted igniting fireworks but agree to stop, the man was advised that a subsequent complaint would result in charges, a fireworks complaint on Hanover Street later was not substantiated;
11:29 p.m.: breaking and entering, Laflin Street, a caller reports her residence was broken into via her bathroom window, the responding officer reports the caller said that she left about 3 p.m. and returned about 10:30 p.m. to find the rear door ajar and a jewelry box, a laptop computer and a camera had been stolen, the officer reports the window screen was taken as evidence.
