WESTFIELD – Edward H. Farnsworth, 71, of Westfield, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 12, 2013. He was born in Westfield and has been a lifelong resident here, graduating from Westfield High School in 1959.Ed worked as a machinist for Dirats Laboratories and worked for Electric Motors Co. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army and was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was an avid boater, enjoyed wood carving and bowling in Narragansett, RI where he also enjoyed his property and boat.
Ed was the widower of Joanne Baker-Farnsworth who died in 2002. He leaves his son, Corey Farnsworth of Westfield and his daughter Lynn Arters of Long Island. He also leaves five grandchildren; Corey Jr., Kyle, Charissa, Garrett and MacKenzie.
The funeral will be Tuesday, July 16, 9:00 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
