12:15 a.m.: fire, Savage Arms, 100 Springdale Road, a company security officer reports a fire in the heat treatment section of the company, the responding firefighters report company employees said that a small fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival;
12:47 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a car fail to stop for a red traffic signal, the vehicle was stopped and the operator’s license was found to be suspended, Derek J. McDougall, 21, of 27 Greenwood St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a harsh and objectionable noise and for a red light violation, during the booking process the man was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
1:44 a.m.: violation of a city ordinance, Park Square, Broad Street, a patrol officer reports he spoke with a person found on the Green, the officer reports the woman said that she was new to the city, did not know that the parks are closed at night and left without incident;
2:23 a.m.: breaking and entering, Elm Street, a caller reports a known person entered her apartment and stole a 32-inch television, the responding officer reports the suspect had enjoyed a domestic relationship with the woman and when he left took items claimed by both parties, the incident remains under investigation;
3:38 a.m.: suspicious person, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle with an open door at a Springfield Road car dealership, the officer investigated to find a person sleeping in the car who said that he must have fallen asleep while looking at the vehicle, the man was sent on his way;
6:28 a.m.: accident, Court Street at High Street, multiple caller reports a =crash with a possible rollover at the intersection, the responding officer reports he found that a southbound operator did not properly stop for a traffic signal and was struck in the intersection by an eastbound vehicle, the offending vehicle rolled completely over and came to rest on its wheels, hydraulic tools were used to extricate the operator who was transported to Noble Hospital where she was treated and released;
8:17 a.m.: animal complaint, North Elm Street, a caller reports the dog she just adopted at the shelter got loose and she needs assistance regaining custody, the responding officer reports both he and a responding animal control officer were unable to assist the woman, see 11:51 a.m. entry;
9:17 a.m.: assist citizen, Falley Drive, a caller reports a man paid to work at his home has not completed the job, the responding officer reports he was unable to immediately speak with suspect but will follow up the complaint;
10:28 a.m.: breaking and entering, Russellville Road, a call reports his home was burglarized overnight and his television was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he suspects a family member is responsible;
11:06 a.m.: animal complaint, Main Street, a caller reports a dog is in the cab of a pickup parked in direct sunlight is panting heavily, the responding officer reports a witness said that the dog had been in the truck for 10-15 minutes prior to his arrival, the officer reports the temperature was 90 degrees at the time and the windows of the truck were open a couple of inches, the officer stayed with the vehicle until the owner returned 11 minutes later, a city ordinance violation citation for inhumane treatment of an animal was issued;
11:51 a.m.: animal complaint, Franklin Street, multiple callers reports a small dog is running loose and the description provided fits a dog reported lost earlier in the day, the responding officer reports the animal control officer took custody of the pug dog and transported it to the municipal animal shelter to meet the owner;
2:18 p.m.: fire, Apremont Way, a caller reports flames and smoke are coming from an electrical outlet, the responding firefighters report the receptacle was faulty and was de-energized;
3:37 p.m.: fraud, Bancroft Apartments, 125 Main Street, a caller reports money was stolen from her bank account by computer fraud, the responding officer reports the caller said that she got a call from a person who informed her that her computer had been compromised and offered to help her repair it, the woman was persuaded to allow the caller to have remote control of her computer and subsequently found money was stolen;
6:59 p.m.: larceny, Frederick Street, a caller reports her former boyfriend broke into her residence and stole property, the responding officer reports the woman said that the man stole her 60-inch television, laptop computer, iPad and other electronics, a criminal complaint was filed;
7:05 p.m.: assist citizen, Hampton Ponds State Park, a caller reports persons and vehicles are locked inside the park, the responding officer reports the gate was opened to allow patrons to leave;
8:45 p.m.: fraud, St. Dennis Street, a caller reports a package of merchandise he did not order but was charged to his credit card was delivered at his home, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;

12:11 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he stopped a vehicle seen operating without a valid inspection sticker, a routine check revealed that the operator was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Teressa A. Libian, 21, of 9 Feeding Hills Road, Southwick, was arrested on the warrant;
7:58 a.m.: assist other police department, Montgomery Street, a supervisory officer reports that a team of four officers was detailed to assist a State Police investigatory unit, see photo in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
11:06 a.m.: assist citizen, Court Street, a caller reports someone inadvertently locked a child in a running vehicle, the responding firefighters report a Good Samaritan made entry to the vehicle for the owner and firefighters are not needed;
11:41 a.m.: larceny, Mill Street, a detective reports that he recovered a computer stolen in late March from a Mill Street office;
1:31 p.m.: larceny, Airport Drive, a detective reports he was advised of the theft of a self propelled lawn mower, the detective reports that a review of security video showed the thief removing the machine, the detective reports his investigation is ongoing;
1:33 p.m.: larceny, Westfield Industrial Park Road, a caller reports inventory may be missing, the responding detective reports his investigation is ongoing;
1:46 p.m.: threat to commit a crime, Westfield Industrial Park Road, a caller reports his girlfriend forwarded a message sent to her by her former boyfriend which include threats to his well-being and reports that he is in fear that the man will come to his workplace to assault him, the officer reports he spoke with the suspect who said that he has concerns about the victim being around the child he has in common with his former girlfriend, the man told the officer that he would take matters into his own hands if necessary and the officer reports he made it clear to the man what the ramifications of that course of actions could be;
3:19 p.m.: assault , King Avenue, a caller reports he was assaulted by a known person, the responding officer reports the caller said that the known man punched his head during a dispute about parking a scooter, the officer reports he observed no signs of injury and the victim declined medical transport, the man said he will consider pursing criminal charges;
4:49 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller reports a shoplifter in the supermarket, the responding officer reports the suspect was detained when she attempted to leave and merchandise valued at $95 was recovered, the woman was served ‘No trespassing’ order;
5:03 p.m.: larceny, Putnam Drive, a resident came to the station to report a larceny from her home, the responding officer reports the complainant said that two gold rings were stolen and she believes person delivering a new bed are responsible;
6:49 p.m.: disturbance, Park Square Town Houses, 140 Union St., a caller reports her partner is belligerent and is throwing things at her including glass plates which have cut her, the responding officer reports the caller said that her partner threw a plate at her which inflicted an injury, the officer observed an injury and a witness supported the complainant’s account, Parise J. Williams, 26, of 140 Union St., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon;
8:07 p.m.: breaking and entering, Little River Road, a caller reports that between 6:30- 7:45 p.m. her home was broken into, the responding officer reports he learned that no crime had occurred, the caller’s husband had disturbed the contents of several drawers searching for a Westfield All Stars baseball shirt;
10:00 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to have been revoked, a criminal complaint was filed;
10:52 p.m.: larceny, Campanelli Drive, a resident came to the station to report his debit card was stolen and fraudulently used, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he inadvertently left his wallet at his workplace and when he retrieved it found his debit card was missing, the man said that when he cancelled the card he found it had been used locally, the officer reports he will attempt to determine if security video is available at the site of the fraudulent usage;
11:01 p.m.: vandalism, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports he observed new graffiti had been applied at two locations on the rear walls of East Main Street stores;
11:15 p.m.: Park Square, Elm Street at Main Street, a patrol officer reports he observed persons using rollerblades on the Green, the officer reports he advised the skaters that their toys may not be used at Park Square which is closed to use after 10:30 p.m., the skaters agreed to find a better place to play.
