12:01 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, a criminal complaint was filed, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard and two parties were provided a courtesy transport to a Union Avenue address;
6:29 a.m.: animal complaint, Elm Street, a caller reports taking custody of a stray dog, the responding officer reports he transported the dog to the station where it was subsequently picked up by the animal control officer who transported it to the municipal animal shelter;
10:15 a.m.: vandalism, Main Street, a caller reports window of a vehicle in the parking lot is smashed out, the responding officer reports that sometime since 9:20 a.m. a vehicular window was shattered but nothing appears to be missing from the car;
11:02 a.m.: assist other agency, Henry’s Trailer Park, officers were detailed to serve a warrant to two persons who failed to appear in court, the officers report there was no response at the door of the trailer;
11:13 a.m.: illegal dumping, Frederick Street, a property manager reports illegal dumping in his building’s refuse container, the responding officer reports the suspect said that a tenant had said he could dump his debris but agreed to remove the refuse when told that the management did not concur;
2:14 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Pleasant Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and non-renewable, a criminal complaint was filed, the vehicle was towed and the operator was provided a courtesy transport to an Elm Street address;
2:42 p.m.: larceny, Hampton Ponds State Park, a Springfield resident came to the station to report that her cell phone was stolen, the responding officer reports the woman said that’s he left her phone on her blanket while she walked on the beach and found it gone when she returned;
4:10 p.m.: assist citizen, Shaker Road, the domestic violence coordinator requests firefighters assist gaining entry to the home of a woman involved in an ongoing domestic dispute, services rendered;
6:45 p.m.: found property, Main Street, a caller reports finding a syringe, the responding officer reports the syringe was properly disposed of;
8:09 p.m.: trespassing, Notre Dame Apartments, 25 Collins St., a caller reports a known person who has been served “No trespassing” order for the apartment complex has been seen on the property, the caller also notified a resident who pointed out that the man by his presence had violated an abuse prevention order, criminal complaints for trespass and for violation of an abuse prevention order were filed;
10:23 p.m.: fireworks, Franklin Street, a person came to the station to complain of fireworks at a Franklin Street address, the responding officer reports he spoke with a resident who said that he had a few fireworks left over from the Fourth of July and had expended them, the officer advised the man that fireworks are illegal and that he was disturbing neighbors.
