RUSSELL – Linda C. Blanchard, 56, of Russell, MA passed away peacefully at her childhood home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Westfield, November 11, 1956 the daughter of Walter and Caroline (Jones) Blanchard of Westfield.
Linda was educated in the Westfield Schools and a graduate of Westfield High School, Class of 1976. Linda attended Springfield Technical Community College and was a graduate of Holyoke Community College where she earned her degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 10 years at the Heritage Hall West Building in Agawam, until her recent illness. Linda also worked as a hair stylist for over 20 years at The Salon and Spa in Westfield. She was an avid gardener who was particularly proud of her flowers.
Besides her parents, Linda leaves her beloved son, Nicholas Gedmin and his wife Michelle C. of Westfield; her cherished grandchildren, Steven and Julia; her caring sisters, Sharon Schenna of Russell and Beth Stadnicki of Southwick, and her adored nephew, Alexander Blanchard. Linda also leaves her friend, Chee Hui of Westfield. Linda’s beloved daughter, Dianna L. Gedmin predeceased her in 1997.
Funeral service will be held Friday, August 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church in Westfield, followed by burial in the Paucatuck Cemetery in West Springfield. Calling hours will be held Thursday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street, Westfield, MA.
