6:17 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a supervisory officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
11:09 a.m.: assist resident, Main Street, a patrol officer reports he was advised that that a motorist locked his keys in his SUV which was running and occupied by a dog, the responding fire captain reports entry was made;
11:18 a.m.: larceny, East Silver Street, a caller reports a shoplifter has been detained in a supermarket, the responding officer reports store officials said that they recovered a $7 package of over-the-counter medication but elected not to pursue criminal charges, the suspect was served a ‘No trespassing’ order for all the stores in the chain;
12:04 p.m.: animal complaint, Ridgecrest Circle, a caller reports he has trapped a skunk and the animal is alive and well but confined in the trap, the director of animal control operations reports the animal was released in an appropriate location;
12:31 p.m.: accident, East Mountain Road, a caller reports a box truck struck the railroad overpass near the Massachusetts turnpike overpass, the responding officer report the trucker was able to release air from his tires and back away from the viaduct;
3:45 p.m.: fire, South Maple Street at Southwick Road, a caller reports a fire under Cowles Bridge, the responding fire captain reports a man was found who had been burning trash under the bridge, the fire was extinguished;
5:04 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Sackett Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a known person whose license he believed to have been suspended operating a motor vehicle, the man’s license status was confirmed and the vehicle was stopped, Rudene Westbrook, 34, of 7 Sackett St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a subsequent offense;
5:09 p.m.: larceny, North Road, a caller from a North Road restaurant reports an exterior air conditioning unit was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that the air conditioner was stolen some time since the restaurant closed on Saturday;
8:48 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard.
