12:30 a.m.: larceny, Meadow Street, a caller reports two men are attempting to take compressors from the yard of a Meadow Street business, the responding officer reports the caller said that he noticed the men because of the noise they were making, the officer found two men who were loading air conditioner parts into a pickup truck, Scott C. Priebe, 22, of 131 River St., West Springfield, and Joshua James Palmer, 20, of 99 Southwick Road, were each arrested for trespass and for larceny of property valued more than $250;
7:04 a.m.: found property, Southwick Road, a resident came to the station to surrender a wallet found in the parking lot of a Southwick Road pizzeria, the responding officer reports the man was found to be unknown at his last known address but Chicopee police were advised and will attempt to contact the owner, the wallet was stored for safe keeping;
8:41 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Orange Street at Sibley Ave., a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:47 a.m.: vandalism, Edgewood Apartments, 134 Union St., a resident came to the station to complain that a known person cut up her clothing, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had left clothing at the home of a third party who observed the suspect cutting up the clothing the victim left there, the victim said that at the time she had been dating the suspect’s former boyfriend;
11:26 a.m.: assist citizen, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St., a resident came to the station to surrender a vintage revolver he said he has owned longer than he can remember but no longer wants, the WWI vintage Smith and Wesson revolver was accepted for destruction;
12:46 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports he spoke with a student and her sister (who was awarded custody of the girl after the recent death of their mother) who told him that her sister’s biological father is pressuring them to allow the girl to live with him in Iowa, the older sister said that the man is seeking control of social security benefits due her sister;
1:07 p.m.: disturbance, Myrtle Avenue, a caller reports that her boyfriend threatened her during an argument, the responding officer reports the caller said that the man was angry about a warrant previously issued due to an assault and reported that the man had also assaulted her recently when she tried to leave by throwing her on to a bed, punching her repeatedly and biting her cheek, a criminal complaint was filed;
3:28 p.m.: fire, Springfield Road, a caller reports a small mulch fire at a Springfield Road business, the responding firefighters report the fire was extinguished;
4:27 p.m.: animal complaint, North Road, a caller reports a small bear was truck by a red truck and is alive but injured, the responding director of animal control operations reports the injured bear was dispatched and the environmental police were notified to remove the carcass;
5:23 p.m.: accident, Kellogg Street at Franklin Street, a Russell resident came to the station to report that she struck a bicyclist with her vehicle, the woman said that the bicyclist was not injured but the bike suffered a broken rim, the woman said that the man did not want any police involvement and said he would be satisfied if the woman bought him a beer, the woman said she bought him the beer but though the resolution was odd so she wanted the incident to be documented;
5:47 p.m.: officer wanted, Franklin Street, a caller reports an unsatisfied customer is outside a Franklin Street store and the caller is concerned for employees, the responding officer reports the woman in question was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Maria Baez, 48, of 26 School St., was arrested on the warrant;
8:22 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, an employee of a Springfield Road department store reports a shoplifter has been detained in the store, the responding officer reports two persons were served ‘No trespassing’ orders by store management;
10:54 p.m.: found property, King Street, a call reports a mountain bike was found at the end of her driveway, the bicycle was transported to the station for safe keeping;
11:05 p.m.: animal complaint, Noble Hospital, 115 W. Silver St., a caller from the hospital reports there is a black Labrador retriever puppy on one of the units, a responding animal control officer reports the puppy as transported to the municipal animal shelter.
