SOUTHWICK – Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional High School has a new vice principal, William Metzger.
Principal Pamela Hunter introduced Metzger to the school committee during its regular meeting last week.
“We had quite an extensive array of applicants and narrowed them down to two,” Hunter said. “Bill really rose to the top.”
Metzger started the position last Friday, coming to the district from Minnechaug Regional High School where he was a teacher and a student favorite.
“My children speak very highly of you,” said Woodland Elementary School Principal Kim Sasso, whose children both had Metzger as a teacher.
Metzger acknowledged there would be a learning curve, but he said he has a lot to offer.
“I come from a district that just went through NEASC accreditation and a building project,” he said. “So I think I bring a lot to the position.”
Metzger said he was “delighted” to be chosen and was eager to begin.
