9:12 a.m.: larceny, Bartlett Street, a resident reports via the online reporting option that a vehicle was damaged by an attempt to cut the catalytic converter from the exhaust system while it was parked at a Bartlett Street parking lot;
12:18 p.m.: breaking and entering, Main Street, a caller reports her recently deceased parents’ home has been ransacked, the responding officer reports the woman said that between Oct. 10-15 the home of her parents was broken into and the contents were disturbed, the woman said she cannot tell immediately if any of her parent’s possessions were taken but she knows that the laptop computer and accessories she left in the house are missing;
2:19 p.m.: breaking and entering, White Street, a property manager came to the station to report that a vacant house was vandalized and copper was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that the house was damaged between Sept. 7 and Oct. 15, the officer found that copper piping, radiators and other metal had been ripped out and gathered together but no one of the metal appeared to have been removed;
3:34 p.m.: animal complaint, Alexander Place, the animal control officer reports she took custody of a dog and transported it to the municipal animal shelter;
3:36 p.m.: harassment, a detective reports that the defendant of a harassment prevention order has sent uncomplimentary messages to the friends and family of the plaintiff, the detective reports a criminal complaint is pending
4:43 p.m.: larceny, Econo Lodge, 50 Southampton Road, caller reports the earpiece for her cell phone which is valued at $100 was stolen from her motel room, the responding officer reports the complainant said that during a 24-hour period her Bluetooth earpiece was stolen from her bathroom at the motel;
5:13 p.m.: found property, Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., a resident came to the station to surrender a cellphone found at the park, the responding officer reports he was unable to unlock the phone to identify the owner so the phone was stored at the station for safekeeping;
6:03 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street store reports that a customer snatched an item on his way out and left without making an attempt to pay for it, the responding officer reports that an employee confronted the man who readily admitted his action and returned the property, the officer reports the store management elected not to pursue criminal charges but asked for assistance serving the man a “No trespassing” order, the officer reports the form was provided to the employee and she was advised how to serve it;
6:18 p.m.: larceny, Pleasant Street, a resident came to the station to report a larceny he has reported to Springfield police but may have occurred in Westfield, the responding officer reports that the man said that he had been visiting on Pearl Street and left his pickup truck unlocked while it was there before going to Springfield, the man said that after he left Springfield he discovered that a lock box he had in his truck which contained jewelry and cash with a total value of more than $10,000 was missing;
9:06 p.m.: incapacitated person, Franklin Street, a caller reports a male party who appears to be intoxicated is sitting in the grass on the side of Franklin Street, the responding officer reports a known man was found who was obviously intoxicated and an ambulance was summoned so the crew could evaluate him, the officer reports the man began to yell at him when the ambulance arrived and continued to create a disturbance and draw attention to himself, the officer said that as the man was being escorted to the ambulance he shoved the officer and repeatedly attempted to punch him, Daniel C. Fisher, of no fixed address in Westfield, was arrested for assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct;
9:16 p.m.: arrest, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a community policing officer reports he learned of the possible location of the subject of an outstanding warrant, the man was sought and found, Maurice O. Davis Jr., 33, of 167 Oak St., Springfield, was arrested on the warrant.
