WESTFIELD – John Velis, a U. S. Army Reserve captain, will visit the Rotary Club of Westfield Tuesday to share his experiences in Afghanistan.
Velis recently returned from a deployment with the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division where he was tasked to supervise the ‘Rule of Law’ operation in Afghanistan’s southern province of Zabul and will offer the Rotarians and their guests a glimpse of his service there.
Velis, a Westfield native, is a 1998 Westfield High School graduate who went on to graduate from the University of South Florida before earning a law degree from Suffolk University.
Upon his return to the U.S. and civilian life, he has resumed his law practice at the Velis Law Office on School Street.
The Rotary Club of Westfield is a service organization and part of the international organization of Rotary clubs.
