WESTFIELD – Doretta Beatrice (Larocque ) Picard, 92, of Westfield died Friday in Western Mass. Hospital. She was born in Chicopee, the daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Bourbeau) Larocque. She attended Chicopee and Holyoke schools and was employed at the former Acme Chain and the former Philip Hano Co., both of Holyoke. Doretta was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
She was the widow of Armand Picard who died in 1990. She is survived by three sons; Frank and his wife Ann of Easthampton, Joseph and his wife Janet of Westfield, and John of Springfield; a daughter, Joanne Murphy and her husband John of Westfield; a step-brother, Donald Larocque of Hingham. Doretta also leaves sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, her beloved godchild, Paula Dicesari of Plymouth,and two loving nephews,Tom Bonomi of Quincy and Roland Lacasse of Pittsfield.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8:15 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 9:15 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
