9:55 a.m.: fire, Meadow Street, a caller reports a fire in his apartment, see story in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
10:01 a.m.: found property, Elm Street, a resident came to the station to surrender a U.S. flag she found in the Elm Street roadway, the flag was stored for safekeeping;
11:30 a.m.: breaking and entering, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports the community center was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports an employee of the Boys and Girls Club which operates a satellite program at the community center said that she left on Friday afternoon and when she returned she found that her desk and a small filing cabinet in which she had locked a laptop computer had been moved and both had been opened, the woman said that the case which had contained the computer was empty, the case was referred to the Detective Bureau;
1:40 p.m.: found property, Franklin Street, a Huntington resident brought a credit card to the station which he found on Franklin Street, the responding officer reports he was unable to immediately contact the owner of the card which was stored for safe keeping;
9:49 p.m.: assault, Fowler Avenue, a caller reports that he observed a known person who appeared to be engaged in a sexual encounter with his wife and when he confronted him the man assaulted him, the responding officer reports the suspect had left the area as had the caller’s wife;
10:34 p.m.: breaking and entering, Union Street, a caller reports his residence was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports there are no signs of forcible entry and the caller said that only his medication had been stolen.
