WESTFIELD—Residents will have a chance to ask whatever questions they desire of Mayor Brian Sullivan next week, during his second ever After Hours with Mayor Sullivan.

The event, which will be happening at PAPPS Bar and Grill at Barnes Regional Airport, is next Tuesday, June 27, at 6 p.m. and is a “buy-your-own” event. According to Amber Danahey, community outreach coordinator for the city, the hope is to draw a greater attendance than the first after hours event. Also, Sullivan will be open to any questions, including ones about the budget and water issues within the city.

“We are hoping to gain momentum for these nighttime events for those who can’t attend the coffee events in the morning,” Danahey said. “And it’s the summer, it’s nice, so we hope to have more attendance.”

Danahey said that the first meeting, which was held in March at Clemenza’s in downtown Westfield, had just seven attendees. However, she also said that the Mayor’s Coffee Hour, which is held monthly, can average as much as 30 attendees per event.

The After Hours event is currently scheduled to be a quarterly one, with the next event scheduled for September. However, Danahey said that if there is a larger audience for next Tuesday’s event, then more may be scheduled.
