Aida N. Santiago


Westfield – Aida Nilda Santiago, 88, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Aida was born on September 7, 1930 in Isabela, Puerto Rico; and was a resident of Westfield for the past 13 years, having relocated from San Juan. Aida was a 1947 graduate of Isabela High School having obtained a Secretarial degree. For over ten years, Aida acted as secretary for the Offices of Gonzalez Padin, a famous department store in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, famous for their Christmas decorations which could be compared to those of New York.

Aida‘s greatest joy was her devotion to her family her entire life. She became a stay at home mom following her departure from the department store. She was an example of exemplary faith and positivism, passed on to her children. Aida was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend for 62 years, Manuel Tirado; her siblings, Carlos Santiago and Mary Santiago. She is survived by her loving and cherished family, two daughters and their husbands, Maria Tirado-Malave and William Malave, Aida Marrero and Angel Marrero; 3 grandchildren, Michael Malave, Brian Malave, and Angelica Marrero. All services are private.
