WESTFIELD – All Stars Dance Center owner Kim Starsiak has always been community-minded. She has been a dancer, dance teacher and dance judge. What she has never been is a baseball player, but that may change July 8.
All Stars Dance Center (ASDC) has partnered with the Westfield Starfires baseball team for ASDC Night July 8 where Starsiak – known as Miss Kim to her dance students – will throw the first pitch.
While she is a little nervous to make it across the plate, Starsiak is enthusiastic and willing to take on any challenge if it means promoting the community she loves.
“I think it’s amazing that we have such a community-based event happening right here in our own town,” said Starsiak. “Covid it kept so many people inside but it’s such a great time to celebrate life family friends and fun.”
Starsiak is challenging her dance families to step up to the plate with her and help sell tickets to the game, which is at 6:30 p.m. at Bullens Field.
Starting today, $10 tickets to the July 8 Starfires game can be purchased at All Stars Dance Center beginning at 4 p.m. They can also be purchased at westfieldstarfires.com.
ASDC’s Jr Hip Hop team perform its award-winning routine “Blockparty” at the game and the top three classes that sell the most game tickets will be invited to do the “Macarena” on the field with Stanley StarFire. Stanley is the Starfires’ new mascot – a squirrel, of course.
Anyone who sells at least four tickets will be announced on the field during the National Anthem, which will be sung by ASDC student Mia Houser.
Starsiak said she was approach by Annalise Eak, the Starfires coordinator of group sales and fan experiences, to partner for the special event.
“I loved how much the Starfires wanted to include family and work with local groups,” said Starsiak.
