Andrew M. Galanski, Jr.

Galanski AndrewWESTFIELD – Andrew M. Galanski Jr., 75, passed into eternal rest on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Noble Hospital, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Palmer, MA to Andrew M. Galanski and Caroline (Skrzyniarz) Galanski.
He owned and operated Andrew’s Electric Company for many years and was Bondsvilles’ Fire Chief from 1968 until 1976 when he moved to Westfield where he was a teacher of Electrical Related Math and Science at Westfield Vocational Technical High School until he retired in 1997.
Andrew leaves his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Socha) Galanski; a brother, Fred Galanski of West Springfield and his wife Veronica; his sisters in law, Constance Loftus and her husband Norman and Dorothy Antonovitch all of Belchertown, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all his family and so will his wit be missed by all. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Noble Hospital and the Bronson Rehab for the wonderful care and all his kind neighbors that were so supportive and helpful during the many years of his illness.
The funeral will be Thursday, July 18, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter & St. Paul Cemetery in Palmer. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Andrew’s memory may be made to Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm Street, Westfield, MA or the charity of one’s choice.
