Angel Luis Serrano, Sr.

WESTFIELD: Angel Luis Serrano, Sr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 16, 2020 and joins his two children, William Serrano and Carmen Serrano Ramos, in heaven. Angel was born on September 28, 1931 in Cauguas, Puerto Rico and lived in Caserío Jose Mercado until his late teens when he moved to New England, making Westfield his home.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gregoria Serrano, his children and their spouses, Gloria Rivera, Ana and Tony Santiago, Domingo and Maggie Serrano, Evelyn Serrano, Angel Jr. and Marisol Serrano Jr., Carlos and Yolanda Serrano, and Sandra and Michael Loya. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory thirty grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. Angel retired from a long career at H.B. Smith and spent his free time watching his favorite sports team, the Boston Red Sox. He loved to tell stories and to make people laugh. Angel was a kind, humorous, and loving soul, and will be truly missed.

The family will hold a Red Sox themed wake in his honor in Westfield on Thursday, October 22nd from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street. The funeral will be held on Friday, October 23rd at 9:30 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
