Anita loved living in the house she helped build on Lake Congamond, snapping sunset photos, treating guests to homemade soups and pies, and tending to her impeccable yard and garden. In her younger days, Anita was a licensed beautician and hair stylist, managing the Sage Allen cosmetics department for over twenty years. Always the lady, Anita never left the house without “putting on her face,” and checking her beautifully curled hair. Mom, Gram- you taught us by example, by what you did and by what you said. Mom, you never stopped working and gave so much. Words cannot express how much we will always miss and love you. Thank you for everything. The family sends a special thank you to her friend and caregiver Mary Alaimo and also to Noble Hospital’s nursing staff, in particular Erin Saunders and pastoral case coordinator Jack Wolfe, for the amazing care during her last days.In honoring Anita’s wishes, a small, private ceremony will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Southwick Ambulance Fund, c/o Southwick Fire Dept, 15 Depot St, Southwick, MA 01077 who treated Anita with great care and respect over the years.
