Anna E. Lapoint-Moriarty

WESTFIELD – Anna E. (Pitoniak) LaPoint-Moriarty, 93, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 in a local nursing home. She was born in Westfield on November 16, 1919 to the late Battazar and Elizabeth (Mihlik) Pitoniak.
She was a lifelong resident of Westfield and attended Mundale School until 8th grade, and then attended Westfield High School. She worked for Robinson Reminders, Command Aircraft and Box Makers. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and a former member of the Rosary Sodality.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Harry LaPoint in 1971 and her second husband, Thomas Moriarty in 1994. Anna leaves her children, Donald E. LaPoint and his wife Joyce, Susan A Sokolowski and her husband James and Lois J. Barlow and her husband Phillip all of Westfield; her siblings, Thomas Pitoniak Sr., John Pitoniak and Dorothy Taudel all of Westfield; her grandchildren, Steven and Christopher LaPoint, Mark Sokolowski, Lori Cellilli and Julie Barlow; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Ryan and Colby LaPoint and Alexandria Sokolowski. Anna was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph and Stephen Pitoniak and Jenny Nomakeo.
The funeral for Anna will be held on Tuesday March 5th at 9:15 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
