Anna Michel Maciorowski

WESTFIELD – Anna Michel Maciorowski, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at home in Westfield. Born in Wurzburg, Germany to the late Josef and Maria (Spannheimer) Michel. Anna witnessed many hardships as a child during World War II; nevertheless, she persevered and created a life full of love and prosperity. One of her fondest memories of Germany was the job she held at a large chocolate factory and eating too much of the “good stuff.”

Anna was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Walter “MAC” Maciorowski, who was the love of her life whom she met in Germany while he was a member of the US Army. Together they spent many of their years travelling the world, enjoying long drives through the mountains, cruises to Nova Scotia, weekly trips to the beach with the entire family, and spending time on their backyard swing. Anna also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, keeping her yard and home immaculate, and especially loved cooking amazing dinners for her family every day. Most of all, she cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren attending sport activities, school functions, and various family gatherings.

Anna is survived by her five adoring children: Rick Maciorowski and his wife Michele of Westfield, Peg Granfield of Feeding Hills, Robert Maciorowski and his wife Jane of Newington, CT, Heidi Maciorowski of Westfield, and William Maciorowski and his wife Karen of Plainville, CT. She also leaves her precious grandchildren: Danielle (and her husband Craig), Erik (and his wife Kristen), Alyssa (and her husband Joe), Ryan, Victoria and Samantha, her cherished great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Oma; Michael and Oliva Anna, as well as her step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren: Brett (and his wife Gina), Andrew, Harper and Garrett. She is survived by her sister, Helga Reinhard (Josef) of Ravensburg, Germany.

Anna is predeceased by her daughter, Ursula Daigle, her siblings, Marie Michel (her twin) and Arnolda Winter.

Anna’s family would like to give special thanks to Sam Ramirez, of Holyoke VNA & Hospice Life Care, for her tremendous care the past few months.

Funeral services and burial will be private at Firtion-Adams Funeral Services, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA and St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield. Donations in memory of Anna may be directed to the American Heart Association. www.firtionadams.com
