Westfield ‘Y’ gymnasts jump to top

On Saturday, March 31st, the Westfield YMCA Gymnastics Program hosted the 2012 Jumpin Jelly Bean Invitationals with over 120 gymnasts from the Bernon Family YMCA, Clark Memorial, Marblehead Swampscott, Meridian Gymnastics, South Shore YMCA, Greenfield, Hampshire Regional, Farmington Valley, and the Whip City.
The Westfield YMCA’s Level 1 Team placed 1st as a team with a 108.7.
Contributing to their team score, Kenzie Kluiko, age 4, placed 2nd on bars, vault, bars and all-around and also placed 1st on beam scoring a 9.3. Her teammate, Izmary Reyes, age 6, placed 1st on bars and floor with a 9.4. and placed 2nd all around with her highest score of the season, 36.0. Seven-year-old Gianna Andras placed 3rd on every event and all-around. Mackenzie Crawford, 8, placed 1st on beam, vault and all-around and 2nd on bars and floor. Tresa Langone, age 8, placed 4th on bars, vault and floor, scoring a 9.15. Eight-year-old Emily Salzer placed 1st on bars and floor and 2nd on beam and all-around, also her highest score of the season, 35.95. Olivia Sweeney, age 7, scored a 9.0 on beam, placing 4th and also scored an 8.7 on floor. Hannah Keeney, 6, scored a 9.35 on beam, placing 2nd and placed 3rd on vault with an 8.7.
From the Level 2 Team, 9-year-old Nicole Marek placed 4th on beam, bars, vault and all-around. Abbey Hutchison, age 9, placed 3rd on floor and 2nd on vault with a 9.1. 7-year-old, Rylee Altieri placed 3rd on floor with a 9.0 and 4th on bars and all-around. Brianna Crawford, age 11, placed 3rd on bars and 2nd on floor and vault with a 9.0. Eleven-year-old Rachel Singer-Dambrov placed 1st on floor and all-around and 2nd on beam and bars.
Level 3 Team member, Madelyn Powers, 7, placed 2nd on beam and 3rd on bars, floor and all-around. Teammate, Bianca Hiltz, age 11, placed 1st on bars, floor and vault, with a 9.3 and placed 1st all-around. Shannon Worley, 14, placed 1st on beam and 2nd on bars, floor on vault with a 9.1. She also placed 2nd all-around.
The Westfield YMCA Gymnastics program is currently running their spring session. Spaces are still available. Registration has also begun for two summer gymnastics camps, plus new this year, AM & PM Extended Care hours.
