Southwick accident victim identified

Town police have positively identified the victim of a roll-over accident which occurred on College Highway Sunday night as Boyd M. Norman Jr.
Norman, 37, whose address is listed as 10 Cedar St, Apartment #1, was operating a 2002 Nissan north when he lost control of the vehicle at 9:56 p.m., crossed over the southbound lane, and struck an embankment, which caused the vehicle to begin rolling over before colliding with a utility pole.
Norman, who was partially ejected from the rolling vehicle and extracted from the wreckage by Southwick Volunteer Fire Department emergency responders, sustained multiple injuries.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Nicholson Hill Road about a mile north of the state line.
Norman was transported to the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment. A Baystate spokeswoman said this morning that Norman is in critical condition.
