Arcadio Rodriguez

Westfield – Arcadio Rodriguez, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday at Agawam Health Care.  Arcadio was born January 24, 1931 in Aguas Buenas, PR, to the late Zenon Rodriguez Torres and Juana Martinez Lopez. He was a life long resident of Westfield and enjoyed many walks around town.  He loved to play dominos, enjoyed gardening and was an avid Red Sox fan. He cherished his grandchildren the most.  He worked for over 43 years at Strathmore Paper before he retired. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Virgin (Cotto) Rodriguez, his sons; Raol Rodriguez, Arcadio Rodriguez Jr., and his daughter Aida Rodriguez, and his five siblings.  He is survived by his sons Nelson and his wife Martha of Southwick, Edwin and his wife Lori of Westfield, Rafeal and his wife Brenda of Springfield, and Hector and his wife Sue of Springfield.   He was the cherished grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Calling hours for Arcadio will be Thursday from 4-7PM at WESTFIELD FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 4 Princeton Street in Westfield.  The funeral will take place Friday at 9:30AM at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Parish, 30 Bartlett Street in Westfield.  Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield.  Please visit www.westfieldfuneralhome.com for Arcadio’s memorial page.
