Art Walk returns to Westfield in 2019

WESTFIELD- The ArtWalk will return to Westfield’s Gaslight District Saturday, February 16th and it will feature artists who are new to the city or are making their gallery debut.

Due to the last few ArtWalks being held in unfavorable weather conditions, the remaining winter-month galleries will take place on Saturdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. instead of Fridays at 5 p.m.. From April onward, the walks will be held on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. as they had before.

This month will feature five artists with pop-up galleries located along the gaslight shopfront on Elm Street. Ashley Bernal is an illustrator and digital graphic artist based out of Westfield. She will be making her gallery debut inside Fast Feet on the corner of Elm and School Street.

Shannon Chiba has been an artist in Westfield for more than two decades. Her specialty is mural art, acrylic, oil and watercolor pieces. She will be stationed at Rosewood Home and Gifts.

Inside Two River Burrito will be Anna Mastropolo. She is a mixed-media painter from Plainville, Conn. with a Bachelor of Fine Arts earned in 2010. This month’s walk will be her Westfield debut.

Natalie Avery is a self-taught artist from Westfield. Her mixed-medium work will be on display inside Mama Cake’s Bakery.

Danny and Lucille Nason are a Westfield native duo-artist set who’s work will be shown at Blended Vintage Marketplace. They work with photography and mixed media art.

Each artist will be at their galleries to answer questions and show their work. Most art that is on display in the various stores will be for sale.

“ArtWalk Westfield is a free cultural event and the public is highly encouraged to “Do the Walk” and rediscover downtown Westfield,” noted Bill Westerlind, ArtWorks Westfield president. “Make it an afternoon of downtown exploration … dining, refreshments, shopping and art all within walking distance along Elm Street.”
