Arthur G. Chevalier, Jr.

SOUTHWICK—Arthur G. “Art” Chevalier, Jr., 83 (1931 – 2014), a resident of this town for over 41 years and most recently of Westfield, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Governors Center in Westfield. Born in Springfield, MA, Art was the son of the late Arthur & Minnie (Shewchuk) Chevalier.

Art was a mechanical engineer and worked as general manager and vice president of Kidder Stacy Co. of Agawam, MA, and as director of engineering for the town of Southwick Public Works Dept. Art was a member of the Mechanical Engineering Society, a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church, and a former member of the Southwick Planning board.   He was an avid hockey & baseball fan, loving the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jacquelyn (Ferris) Chevalier and their 5 children: Jacquelyn Blake and her husband Fred of New Cumberland, PA; Arthur Chevalier III and his wife Cheryl of Virginia Beach, VA; Cynthia Densmore of Portland, ME; Michael Chevalier and his wife Sidney-Jeanne of Granby, MA; and Wendy Burland and her husband Donald of Feeding Hills, MA; sisters-in-law Joan Chevalier of Agawam, MA, Maureen Chevalier of Ludlow, MA, Linda Tyberghein of Farmingdale, NJ, & Elizabeth Brbovic and her husband Mario of Chicopee, MA; 6 grandchildren: Daria, Arthur IV, Melynda, Melissa, Michael Jr., & Kristina, 8 great grandchildren, Harrison, Henry, Arthur V, Benjamin, Hudson, Addison, Philip, & Olivia.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 8:45 AM from the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Rd., Southwick, MA. Burial in New Cemetery. Family & friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 15th from 4:00-8:00 PM.
