Arthur H. Schoenrock

WESTFIELD: Arthur Horton Schoenrock, 90, (1924-2015) passed away in a local nursing home Saturday February 21, 2015. He was the son of the late Frank and Florence (Goff) Schoenrock. Born in Westfield, he was a lifelong resident. Arthur worked in the shipping department at White’s Quaint Shop for 25 years where he met his wife. He enjoyed candlepin bowling, horseshoes fishing, and golfing where he had 3 hole-in-ones in his career. Arthur and his wife worked together and enjoyed sports together. He told her “She was the woman of his dreams” as she told him “He was the man of her dreams”. They enjoyed 38 years of marriage, doing and going places together.  Arthur also worked in Morilla, part of Ampad-Reed Co., for 10 years until his retirement. During retirement, Arthur worked at the Westfield Evening News as a collator and paper carrier with his wife for over 10 years. He loved to play cards both at Hampden Village and Renaissance Manor where he last lived. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Annette (Fournier) Schoenrock; 1 brother Francis Schoenrock of Holyoke; 3 nieces, Barbara Hall and her husband Tom, Regina Ekmalian and her husband Edward, and Janet Smith and her husband Chuck;  nephews, Frank (Skippy) Schoenrock and his wife Karen and Jimmy and Dennis Hall. Arthur was predeceased by his 18 year old cat “Noodles” who will always be with him.  Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 25th from 3pm-5pm at the Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main St.  The funeral for Arthur will be Thursday February 26, 2015 at 10 am., with a mass of christian burial to follow at 11 am in Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke Rd. Burial will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, all in Westfield. Arthurs family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance Manor and Mr and Mrs Richard Rubin for their fine care and visits to Art. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
