WESTFIELD: Arthur P. Madrid, 89, died Saturday August 29, 2015 in a local nursing home. He was born in Redlands, CA, November 15, 1925 to the late Severiano and Elena (Pedroza ) Madrid. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. Arthur was employed as a mechanical engineer for several years at the former Foster Machine, and at Savage Arms, Smith and Wesson, and Decorated Products, retiring in 1990.He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church, and a member of Westfield American Legion Post 124. Arthur sponsored the Mexican Invitational Golf Tournament for twenty-five years. He was predeceased by his wife Sophie in 1972. He is survived by four sons, Martin Madrid and his wife Catherine of Westfield, Arthur Madrid and Suellen Thornhill of West Springfield, Ronald Madrid and his wife Joan of Manning,SC, and John Madrid and his fiancée Jessica Coffey of West Springfield and his mother Margaret Warrington of Chicopee. Arthur also leaves fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held on Friday September 4that the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St, Westfield at 11:30 am.Calling hours will precede the service from 10am until 11:30 am.
