WESTFIELD – Attilio “Cope” Pighetti, 83, of Westfield died Saturday in a local nursing home. Born in Westfield, son of the late Osvaldo and Angelina Pighetti, he was educated in Westfield schools and was a graduate of the former Westfield Trade School.
He was a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard , and a member of the American Legion Post #124 of Westfield. He was employed, as a machine adjuster at Stanhome Inc. of Easthampton for forty-five years, retiring in 1992. Attilio was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, and a member of the St. Rocco Club, and the Italian Fraternal Club. He was an avid bocce player and fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Rosalia C. (Pelgrims) Pighetti; two sons, Karl and his wife Donna Pighetti, and Donald Tryon and his fiancé Linda Snider, all of Westfield; two sisters, Mary Jemilio, and Esther Courtney, both of Westfield. Attilio also leaves four grandchildren; Nicole and Shawn Pighetti, and Christopher and Michael Tryon and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield at 1:00 p.m. There are no calling hours. Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield is in charge of arrangements.
