WESTFIELD: Audrey I. Giles, passed away October 30, 2014 at the Governor’s Center at the age of 93. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Mary Louise and Arthur Giles of Worcester. After graduating from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, Audrey went on to serve as a nurse in the Army during World War II, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. She served as Director of Nurses Training at the Western Mass Hospital for 28 years. Audrey was a devoted and much loved Aunt to her niece, Donna Somers Peterson and her husband Everett Peterson of Southampton. She also leaves her great nephews, Ryan S. Peterson and his wife, Jennifer of Southampton, Scott G. Peterson of Westfield and Daniel J. Peterson of Worcester. She also leaves her great great nephew, Dillon S. Peterson. Audrey was predeceased by her sister, “Babe” Somers and her brother-in-law, Robert C. Somers of Westfield. Audrey was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church of Westfield. The burial will be private and there are no calling hours.
