BOSTON – Executive Office for Administration and Finance Secretary Kristen Lepore last week announced the appointment of Mark Nunnelly as the next Commissioner for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, effective March 30. Nunnelly has also been named as special advisor to Governor Baker for technology and innovation competitiveness, where he will advise the governor on making Massachusetts a more attractive environment for creating and growing innovation companies.
“I am excited to have Mark join my administration in these important roles,” said Baker. “His track record of building organizations and growing companies in Massachusetts and across the country will add greatly to our policy discussions and initiative.”
“The Department of Revenue plays a key role in our state’s financial and economic management and supports our ability to advance our key priorities across the Commonwealth,” said Lepore. “I look forward to working with Mark to ensure fairness across the board.”
“I am pleased and excited to join the Baker-Polito Administration and to have the opportunity to put my skills and experience to work for the Commonwealth,” said Nunnelly. “I want to ensure that we administer tax laws fairly, across the board, which will provide us with a healthy revenue stream while increasing the economic competitiveness that makes Massachusetts great.”
