WESTFIELD – On Monday July 8, 2019, Bernard (Bernie) F. Bedor, loving husband and father of 2 children passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68. Bernie was born on September 22, 1950 in Westfield MA to Herman W. Bedor and Agnes R. (Doviak) Bedor. He went to St. Mary’s School and then on to Westfield Trade School prior to working for Commercial Distributing Co. for over 30 years. After his “retirement” he went on to work for Grimaldi Trucking of Agawam Ma until his recent passing. Bernie had a passion for running, cutting his grass (of course on his zero-turn lawn mower) model trains (which completely consumed his basement and built entirely with his own two hands) and the freedom of riding on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His infectious smile and boisterous laugh could make any day better. He truly loved life and lived it to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife Diane (Cennamo) Bedor of 47 years, his two children Bernard M. Bedor of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Michelle M. (Bedor) Turner and her husband Matthew of Pasadena, MD, and his grandchildren Wyatt and Everett Turner who loved their “Papa” beyond words. He is also survived by his sisters Joanne Galczynski and her husband David of Westfield, MA, Ann Marie Cervione and her husband Mick of Suffield, CT, his best friend and little brother Gerard “Buzz” Bedor of Westfield, MA and several nieces and nephews. Bernie was preceded in death by his father Herman W. Bedor, his mother Agnes R. (Doviak) Bedor, his brother Herman A. Bedor, and his sister Jane T. (Bedor) Ognen. Services will be held at Firtion – Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St, Westfield, MA 01085 on Friday, July 12th from 4-7pm and a funeral service will be held on Saturday July 13th at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St, Westfield, MA 01085.
