GRANVILLE: Bernice G. (Dorazio) Whalen, 88, passed away on May 31 2015. She was the wife of the late John Whalen. Born in Plainville, CT on September 29, 1926, Bernice was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Commotti) Dorazio. She was a 1944 graduate of Plainville High School.
Bernice was a member of the Granville Federated Church, The Ladies’ Aid, and she enjoyed playing cards. She retired with her husband to Fayette, Maine; living there many years until moving back to Granville to be with her daughter and son in law.
She leaves her 3 daughters, Karen Kaberle and her husband Michael of Wayne, Maine, Elizabeth Utz and her husband Charles of Englewood, FL, Sherry Wainman and her husband Harry Jr. of Granville, MA; 2 sisters, Caroline Iris of Plainville, CT and Julia Zabrenski of New Britain, CT; 4 grandchildren, Robert Kaberle, James Kaberle, Jessica Wainman, Danielle Erbentraut; and 6 great grandchildren. Bernice was preceded by a fifth grandchild, Wendy Jean Wainman.
Funeral services will be at the family’s convenience.
Bernice will be laid to rest with her husband in Fayette, ME. There are no calling hours.
