Bombers blank Taconic, 7-0

WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School girls soccer team built a 3-0 first-half lead against visiting Taconic on Tuesday, and never looked back. The Bombers tacked on four more goals in the second half, cruising to an easy 7-0 home victory.
McKenzie Saltmarsh, Katherine Colapietro (from Saltmarsh), and Rachel Conklin (from Haley Mason) netted goals in the first half. In the second half, Caroline Senecal tallied a goal (from Alex Lehman), and Julianne Sharon scored the final three goals. Conklin and Annie Brozini earned assists.
Westfield’s Amelia Tooker (2 saves) and Celina Nunez (3 saves) earned a combined shutout in net.

OTHER GIRLS SOCCER RESULTS

McCann Tech 4, St. Mary’s 3

Monika Peterson tallied the first goal of the game to give St. Mary’s an early 1-0 lead, but McCann Tech stormed back with three straight goals, including two early in the second half.
But St. Mary’s rallied.
Saints’ Darby Bailey scored on passes from Bella Butler and Peterson late. Bailey assisted on the team’s first goal.
