Britney’s Piece of Me Tour Lands at Mohegan

Britney Spears

UNCASVILLE, CT – Britney Spears is back!!! Britney brought her massive show to the Mohegan Sun Arena last week for a nonstop energy fueled performance. Age is getting in the way of Spears slowing down anytime soon. Spears had held residency at Planet Hollywood’s Axis Auditorium from December 2013 to December 2017. This included over 248 shows and grossed over one hundred and thirty seven million dollars are the box office.

Britney’s performance at the arena did not disappoint for throngs of diehard fans. The opening number had Spears back up dancers enter first followed Britney to a rousing ovation from the crowd. Clothing changes were one of the highlights of the night. The performance was broken in to 7 different acts and a one song encore. Each act contained between 3 or 4 songs and then Spears would leave for another outfit change.

The set list for the night which has been consistent with her residency in Las Vegas and also on the current tour doesn’t leave much for t attending multiple shows and looking to possibly hear different songs. But oh well…that’s part of all of the giant arena tours with major productions, it leaves no room to improvise or making changes mid tour.

Spears hit on all stages of her singing career and included all the hits. Womanizer was in act one, while Act 2 included the two songs that really skyrocketed her career, …Baby One More Time and Oops!… I Did it Again. Pretty much everyone attending was singing along and to every song.

Act 3 included Gimme More, Clumsy and Change Your Mind, with all gaining approval from the very mixed age fan base. While Act 4 hit on Boys and Do You Wanna Come Over?, Act 5 brought the screams out again for I’m a Slave 4 U, Make Me…, Freakshow and Do Somethin’.

Highlights from Act’s 6 and 7 included Circus, If U Seek Amy, Toxic and Stronger. Britney briefly left the stage for a few minutes before coming back with Till the World Ends as the encore and finale.

Overall a really entertaining night with upbeat songs, dancing and a solid stage show.
