WESTFIELD – Bryan Wilcox, age 90 (1934-2025) of Westfield, Massachusetts passed away on March 20th, 2025.
Bryan was born in Westfield in 1934 to William Wilcox and Gertrude (Fairclough) Wilcox. He lived in Huntington and attended local schools through 1952. Bryan graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1956. While at UMASS he was a member of the first UMASS basketball team to play in the College World Series in Omaha Nebraska. Bryan was a Radar Navigator in the U.S. Air Force for three years being discharged in 1960 at the rank of Captain.
Bryan moved to Westfield in 1960. He worked for 32 years at the Travelers Insurance Co. and retired in 1992 as the Commercial Lines Manager in Springfield MA. Bryan was a member of the Little River Golf League. He also played cards in the Al Lutat Cribbage League since 1962.
Bryan leaves his dear grandson Shane Gilbert and great-granddaughter Anastasia of Holyoke MA and many nieces and nephews. Bryan was predeceased by the two loves of his life, wife Shirley and daughter Stacy. Bryan enjoyed spending time with his close friends Carl Cline, Herb Wood, and Ray Moquin.
