WESTFIELD – Camille M. Chasse, 83, (1940-2023) of Westfield, died peacefully on Monday, November 27th, 2023. Camille was born in Fall River MA on August 1st, 1940, to the late Albert and Irene (Madore) Chasse.
He is survived by three sisters: Theresa Banks of Fall River MA, Claire St. Laurent of Fall River MA and Paulette Houle of Fort Collins Colorado, as well as one brother Paul Chasse and his wife Diane of Somerset MA.
Camille attended school in Fall River MA and moved to Springfield following his marriage to the love of his life, Vivian L. (Laberge) Chasse. He is also survived by two daughters, Michele M. Chasse of Woodbridge VA and Rachael J. Godaire of Westfield MA, two grandchildren: Scott A Godaire of Westfield MA and Jennifer N. Godaire and her fiancé Reed S. Thaner of Windsor Locks CT, a sister-in-law Lucille J. Laberge of Springfield MA and a brother-in-law Roger E. Laberge of Quincy MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Vivian L. (Laberge) Chasse in 2007, his son David M. Chasse in 1968 and his son-in-law Mark L. Godaire in 2023.
Camille was permanently disabled following a motor vehicle accident in 1979 in which he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. Despite his many challenges he and his wife, Vivian, played a role in the care of their grandchildren as well as the children of several close family friends.
The funeral will be Monday, December 4th, 2023, from Firtion Adam’s Funeral Service in Westfield at 9:00 a.m., followed by a liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield MA with burial to follow at St. Rose Delima Cemetery, in Chicopee MA.
