SOUTHWICK – At Monday night’s Select Board meeting, the board revealed the candidates for the Lieutenant Position at the Southwick Police Department. The candidates are Sgt. Det. Robert Landis and Sgt. Rhett Bannish.

In the job description that’s been created by the Select Board, qualified candidates must have eight years of law enforcement experience and at least three years of supervisor experience.

Both Landis and Bannish were candidates for the Chief of Police position. With current Chief David Ricardi set to retire in June, Lt. Kevin Bishop was selected as the new Chief on January 2, leaving an open vacancy for the Lieutenant position.

The Select Board decided to invite both Landis and Bannish to a Select Board meeting on May 22. At the meeting, the board will interview both candidates and each of the three board members will be asking two questions each.
