WESTFIELD – A woman and three children escaped serious injury on Washington Street Tuesday when their southbound car was struck in the side by another vehicle which failed to stop at the School Street intersection.

Westfield Police Sgt. Jeffrey Baillargeon reports the impact “caused her to spin out and hit our handicap ramp” at the Westfield Police Department headquarters on Washington Street.

He said that the operator and three small children were taken to Baystate Noble Hospital for evaluation and treatment of their minor injuries.
