Carl J. McEwan

WESTFIELD – Carl J. McEwan, 68, of Westfield died quietly at home with his family at his side on Monday, August 13, 2012 after battling cancer bravely for the past four years. He was born in Westfield on October 3, 1943 to Wallace “Bob” and Marguerite (Cook) McEwan.
Carl graduated from Westfield Trade School and worked for several local machine shops in the area including Danaher Tool in Springfield, Kidder Stacy in Agawam and Plainville Casting in Westfield. Carl enjoyed painting, walking and woodworking.
He leaves his wife of twenty-eight years, Donna C. (Bratcher) Button-McEwan; two sons, Shawn P. McEwan and his wife Hillary of Westfield and Mark R. Button of Denver; two daughters, Carla-Jean Brown and her husband Scott of Blandford and Deborah Button- Greer and her husband Bryce of Denver. Carl also leaves two sisters, Jean Pilgrim and Marilyn McDaniel both of Westfield and ten beautiful grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul McEwan.
A memorial service in the Central Baptist Church will be held in late September. Calling hours are omitted.
