CHESTER – The official ribbon-cutting for Carm’s Restaurant and the Gateway Hilltown Visitors Center took place Jan. 27 at the shared historic building at 241 Route 20.
Hilltown Economic Development Director Jeanne LeClair reported a great crowd, including satte Rep. Natalie Blais and members of the Chester Select Board, Hilltown Collaborative, Historic Route 20, and enthusiastic residents.
LeClair said members of the Whitcher family, related to Frank Whitcher who started the original Whitcher’s Garage on this spot in 1914, also joined the group.
“A great asset for the town and the region; huge thanks to owners Erin Patrick & Aaron Allen for hosting a great event and creating such a special community space for us all,” said LeClair.
