Southwick’s Carr to retire in August

LINDA CARR

SOUTHWICK – During a review of Town Accountant Linda Carr’s goals and objectives this week, the Board of Selectmen thanked her for her outstanding service.
Carr is set to retire from her post this August after nearly three decades as a town employee.
Selectman Russell Fox recalled appointing Carr as a member of the board and said he was “proud to have made the right decision.”
Selectwoman Tracy Cesan, also a town employee, praised Carr for her work and leadership.
“I have only known Linda for four years, but I think she is an exceptional employee,” said Cesan. “She is a great role model and leader. You work very hard with Carol and Sandy and Jim to teach them, and I commend you for all the work you’ve done for this town.”
Chairman Arthur Pinell echoed the sentiments of the other board members and called Carr an “exemplary” employee.
“Thank you for the job you do every day and have done for many years,” he said.
Carr recalled that her time with the town began before computers and spoke about the paperwork that was once involved in her job. She then gave a brief update of the department and said she expected a smooth transition upon her retirement.
