West Springfield – Celia Niedzwiecki passed into eternity, on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Wingate Hampden Facility in Hampden, MA. Celia was born and lived in West Springfield, MA where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1938 with honors and made her career in bookkeeping and accounting. Celia was the daughter of John and Celia Niedzwiecki who emigrated here from Poland in the early 1900’s. She was very dedicated to her family members and continued to live at and maintain the farm owned by her parents for years until its sale in 2016. Celia was predeceased by six siblings; Vincent, Walter, Valada, all of West Springfield, and Lillian Parenzo of Westfield, Jean Bak of Chicopee, and Henry of Northampton. Celia has left one niece, Elaine J. Lees of Westfield, MA., and four nephews, Michael and Patrick Niedzwiecki of Northampton, and Thomas Bak and John Bak of Virginia and California respectively.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 am from West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in St. Thomas Church at 12 noon. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
