HUNTINGTON – Charles W. “Charlie” Pierce, 79, (1936 – 2015) a retired Wheel Maker at Westfield Grinding Wheel for 48 years, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Cooley-Dickinson Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Randolph, Vermont on May 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Ellsworth Pierce and Hilda F. Gagnon. He moved to Huntington 29 years ago coming from Westfield. He was a former member of the Huntington Cemetery Commission. Charlie leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Viola A. (Baillergeon) Pierce; a daughter, Michelle Kaempfer and her husband Mark of Russell; a brother, Edward Pierce; five grandchildren, Angela Hubbard, Cobey Krupa, Richard Kaempfer, Jasmine Kaempfer and Justin Cook and seven great-grandchildren, Desire’e, Destiny, Kaden, Kyren, Jacoby, Arlo and Cora. He was predeceased by his two daughters, Corinne and Felicia Pierce and his brother, Peter Pierce. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the O’Brien Hilltown Community Funeral Home, 27 Russell Road, Huntington, MA. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. Memorial donations may be made to the Charles Pierce Memorial Fund, c/o United Bank, 14 Russell Road, Huntington, MA 01050. There will be a celebration of Charlie’s life held on Saturday, August 1st at 1:00 p.m. at 6 Thomas Road, Huntington, MA.
