WESTFIELD – Chester W. Patryak, 90, of Westfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, May 27, 2013. He was born in Westfield, January 20, 1923 to the late Stanley and Eva Patryak.
Chet graduated from Westfield Trade School in 1942, entered the military in 1943 and was a Boat Swain Mate 2nd Class US Navy. He received several medals including the Bronze Star and Victory Medal. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney, Stevens Paper Mill and B&E Tool Co. He was an avid golfer, loved animals and enjoyed woodworking.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (O’Connor) Patryak. He leaves his daughter, Pamela Murdock and her husband Richard; granddaughters, Tanley Santinello and her husband Andrew, Caitlin Sadowski and her husband Michael, all of Westfield, along with great-grandchildren, Ella and Madelyn Santinello and Austin Sadowski. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-laws, Joseph and Freda Patryak and John and Catherine Patryak. The family would like to thank Noble VNA & Hospice and Dr. John Bedford for the care that was given to Chet.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
