Christine M. Daley died peacefully on January 29, 2015 at the age of 70. She was the daughter of Joseph S. & Effie M. Waversak. She was a member of St. Peter’s & St. Casimir’s Parish. Christine graduated from Westfield High School in 1962. She was an insurance CSR and worked for various, local insurance agencies. She was a member of St. Peter’s & St. Casimir’s Choir and a former member of the St. Mary’s Choir in Westfield. Christine was a volunteer for Life Choice Organ Donor Services. She was a member of the Western Hampden Historical Society and the Slovak Cultural Group. She was on the Board of Trustees for the Dewey House and on the Board of Directors for HEROES. She was a devoted volunteer at the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter. She worked on her Class Reunion Committee for many years. In the past, she was a Brownie leader, Cub Scout Treasurer, Secretary of the Prospect Hill PTA and was on the St. Mary’s CCD Board of Directors. She loved the ocean and cats, the dogs at the Shelter and loved to bake her beloved by many – holiday cookies. Her Greatest love was that of her children and her grandchildren. She leaves her daughter Joanne Daley and her spouse, Jody Michalski; her son Jeffrey Daley and his wife Jennifer; her granddaughters Charlotte and Jordyn Daley and her grandson Calen Daley. She leaves her sister, Beverly McCarthy and her husband William and several nieces and nephews, good friends and her cat, Shadow. Her children Joanne and Jeffrey and her sister Beverly would like to give special thanks for the compassion and care their mother/sister received at Baystate Health, Noble Hospital and the Governor’s Center.
The funeral for Christine will be held on Wednesday February 4th at 9 am from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Peter’s and St. Casimir’s Church, 22 State Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday Feb 3rd from 4-7 pm.
